# Customized SystemRescue CD with ssh deamon enabled and default password The ISO files in this directory are a customized version of the well known [SystemRescue CD](https://www.system-rescue.org). Per default there is no ssh daemon enabled when the cd is started and therefore no remote login is possible. This for sure is sufficient for most people who can use a attached monitor or console, but especialy for blind users who need a screen reading software to work with a computer a system where remote login is possible is much easier to use or access is possible at all. The cd has included many usefull tools for different administrative task, see [here for more details]([https://www.system-rescue.org/System-tools/). Also it is possible to install aditional packages after the cd has been started. Because no screen reading software is installed and started per default, blind users will not be able to use the grafical environments and tools which are included on the cd and the textbased console out of the box. To work with the cd as a blind user the best way is to log in via ssh after the cd has been started. It might be possible to install and use e.g. brltty, but I have not tested this yet. After booting the cd your computer will get a dynamic ip address in your network. You can get this address e.g. by scanning your network or via your routers webinterface. If you know the address you can connect via ssh with the following userdata: Username: root Password: geheim I am using the cd to install new linux machines or as a rescue system for the servers I am administrating. That, and because I was not able to find a bootable cd where sshd is enabled per default and where remote login is possible out of the box, was the reason to build this customized version of the SystemRescue cd. If new versions of the original SystemRescue CD will become available I'll update the ISO with the enabled ssh daemon on my server to always have the newest versions of the tools included on the cd. If you have questions or ideas regarding the cd just let me know and drop me a message to chris (at) schoeppi.net. Have fun with the ISO, I hope you find the cd also that usefull and helpfull as I do ;-).
